Dear Ted and Amy,
I volunteer for a charity organization in town and put a lot of my own time and effort into it. My husband and I don't have much money to donate so we feel like our time is just as valuable. But here is my question - if a person wins a money raffle for an organization that they volunteer for, are they obligated to donate all the money back? It's always so awkward for people who win them if everyone sees that they keep the money. But isn't that the incentive of something like a 50/50 because it not only benefits the charity, but you can benefit as well? Is there a protocol that we should follow or am I just way overthinking this?
