In vv. 1-4 we saw 1) The saving of the remnant. Verse 5 really is the final sub-point under that, which is c) faith demonstrated. There is an obvious tie here to the obedience of 6:22. The first obedience is found in the building of the ark, whereas the second has to do with the loading of the ark.

Then, in vv. 6-9 we see 2) The Time Frame of the Ark Narrative, where we look at the context surrounding the narrative, both before and after it to try and piece together construction times, answer objections with regard to skill, tools, intellect, etc.
