Today, we begin looking at Genesis 10, covering vv. 1-5. We discuss the importance of the natural textual markers found in the book of Genesis (the tôledôt statements - translated as "the generations of...") and how this particular one makes the case for Noah having just the three sons mentioned.

In v. 1 we look at 1) Who will be discussed over the course of the chapter.

Then, in vv. 2-5 we note very practically that 2) The last shall be first, as the first son mentioned is the last in the birth order - Japheth. Then, we make some practical applications about the text.
