As we continue to look at the function of chapters 10-11 we noted that there are multiple purposes:

1) Israel might know the history of their enemies.

2) That Israel might know how all the people got to various parts of the world.

3) That Israel might gain an appreciation for what would be revealed in Gen. 12:3 to Abraham.
