In vv. 10-20 of Genesis 12 we see "A Tested Call" in the Abram's life.

In vv. 10-13 we noted 1) God’s people often respond to danger by deception.

Then, in vv. 14-16 we see 2) Deception may jeopardize the promised blessing.

Finally, in vv. 17-20 we see that 3) The Lord at times must intervene to protect the promised blessing.
