In vv. 1-16 we see 1) The People of God may be confident of victory over those who threaten God’s program of blessing.

While we only make it through the first seven verses, we spend time discussing the region, culture, and practices of the Mesopotamian kings and how it plays in and connects with the preceding chapter.
