This chapter looks at the concept of God's chosen people living in a foreign land.

In vv. 1-12 we learn that 1) God’s people should be prepared to appear before Kings.

Then, in vv. 13-27 we see that 2) God may use wise leaders who follow him to ensure that his chosen survive and also bring blessing to others around them.

Finally, in vv. 28-31 we learn that 3) God’s people must never lose sight of their promises and heritage.
