In Genesis 46, we are observing the fact that in addition to God calling his people out of Egypt (Hos. 11:1), he also sends them into Egypt, as we are seeing in this chapter.
In vv. 1-7 we learned that 1) Leaving one place from which God has led a person to another may require a reassurance of God’s promises.
In vv. 8-27 we see that 2) Believers must be thorough in obeying the leading of the Lord.
And, in vv. 28-34 we learn that 3) Believers must trust and prepare for God’s new direction.
