We continue this narrative section that encompasses the entirety of chapter 38 where we see the theme of God’s Work In Spite of Our Sin.

In vv. 1-11 we learned that 1) God’s people can introduce unnecessary complications in their lives when they do not follow God’s will.

Now, in vv. 12-23 we see that 2) God’s people can try to use sinful methods to accomplish what they know to be right.

Then, in vv. 24-26 we learn that 3) Desperate actions can reveal the faithlessness of those who have an obligation before the Lord.

And, in vv. 27-30 we see that 4) God can sovereignly use the poor choices and actions of people to bring about his will.
