Today we begin to look at the first major negative episode in Joseph's life, what he would later look back upon and comment that his brothers Intended it for Evil.

We begin looking at the section from vv. 12-28 where we learn that 1) Faithful servants may suffer persecution.

a) The Call to Faithfulness is continual (vv. 12-17).

b) The Faithful may suffer persecution (vv. 18-28).

i. Persecution may come from loved ones (v. 18a)

ii. Faithless people are capable of all manner of evil (v. 18b)

iii. Faithless people may despise God's calling on your life (vv. 19-20).
