Gen. 32:22-32 cover Jacob's famous wrestling match. The broad topic at hand is that of "Striving With God," something we have all done at one point or another, no doubt.

In vv. 22-25 we looked at the fight itself and learn that 1) The Lord may occasionally cripple believers in order to bless them.

In vv. 26-29 we started examining the idea that 2) The Lord Blesses the Dependent Believer with the prospects of Victory.

We continue that discussion, picking it up again in v. 28 with a lengthy discussion on the name Israel and what it actually means and the ramifications of the name, and how ultimately God did bless Jacob, just as he had asked.
