The difference between Humility and being Humiliated:

We tend to confuse the meaning of these two dynamics. In free enterprise, the majority of people subconsciously mistake humility with being humiliated.

The difference:

Humility comes from the core of who we are. Imagine a tree that has lots of fruit. The more fruit this tree bears, the more it's branches will fall toward the earth. To be humble means to be able to stand in the gravity of who we are deeply rooted with an unshakable unchangeable inside and a flexible outside. It means that we realize we are opening ourselves up to allow the grace that flows through us so that we can give a service to the world, striving to assist and empower others.

Our resistance to humility is unconscious because we have confused humility with being humiliated. To us, being humiliated has been equated to being rejected. Ironically, we fear rejection because we haven't practiced true humility on the inside. It's our ego and false sense of self that resists and fears the illusion of being humiliated. We constantly seek approval from others because we haven't realized that we are approved of already, by the One that created us to begin with.

So you see my friends, humility and being humiliated are not the same, and we only fear humiliation when we are not practicing humility on the inside.

You can strengthen your self esteem when you no longer fear humiliation. After all when you stop looking for situations to be offended by, then you stop choosing to be humiliated.

In addition to that, when you know and trust that everything that happens is constantly strengthening you, then you can be humble on the inside, bold on the outside, and grow through every step of the journey.

One of the best ways to release the fear of being humiliated and/or rejected, is to not ask others for their opinions when you know the answer yourself.

Examples:

Do you think my business is a good one?

How did I do today?

Do you like what I wrote?

and many more...

In essence when we keep asking these questions, we are indirectly asking: Do you like/accept/approve of me?

In this way, we constantly give our power away and are at the mercy of other's opinions which are based upon their own perceptions and illusions.

This is what we are saying subconsciously:

"Today I am going to let your illusions determine the value of who I am and I will take those illusions, process them within me and will create my own set of illusions that are based on your illusions. Finally, your illusions plus my own illusions will cause me to feel "bad" which I call being humiliated."

How do you break this pattern? You stop seeking approval from others, start approving of your Self, practice humility on the inside, and boldness on the outside.

When you are confronted with the illusions of the world, you take a look over your shoulder, brush off the dust, the chip, and/or the load that may be lodging on you as debris getting in the way of your clarity and self worth. Then you move forward!

A light load and a lofty dream! That's the name of the game. Are you willing to play?

I wish you tremendous success.

Be Brave,

Your friend along the way,

Ellie Drake
