After reading Dr. Brenè Brown's latest book, Braving the Wilderness: The Quest for True Belonging and the Courage to Stand Alone, I feel like I've had a mini therapy session and received motivation to get started on the uncomfortable "me work". This book made me do some soul searching on why I react to life in a certain manner. This book made me be honest about why I make the avoidable mistakes I've made. It made me question why I do the things that I do when I feel left out, lonely, disappointed, failed, or scared.

The book raised questions in me like:

Can you belong nowhere and everywhere?

Why do we live in an all or nothing society? ie.Either you're with me or against me...

Why do I often assume the worst and how can I use my words and actions to bring power and peace to situations?

Even when I disagree and feel strongly about my perspective, how can I be more compassionate and respectful to another person's point of view?

How can I be the light alone AND form a light collective?

Going into the final stretch of the year and my 30's I'm thinking of things I want to leave in 2017 and not carry into my 40's. Braving the Wilderness and embracing new adventures is at the top of my list.
